Accredited Training

I spearheaded the effort to formalize our training with an accreditation with the International Coaching Federation (ICF). The ICF provides several levels of accreditation, and I conducted an analysis to assess where our existing training met accreditation and where any skill gaps might be present.
The training I developed was an end-to-end nine-month training intensive for an audience of beginner coaches who would be learning coaching skills for the first time. The training needed to include not just coaching skills (active listening, mirroring, asking open and forward-leaning questions, etc) but also incorporate awareness around providing ethical referrals for clients in crisis and DEI.In addition to the core curriculum, I developed Major Concentrations that explore niched coaching topics (Executive Coaching, Somatic Coaching, Career Coaching, Health + Wellness Coaching).

Design an end-to-end nine-month training curriculum that masterfully trained brand-new coaches in the coaching skill-set, while meeting ICF accreditation standards.

All existing training materials underwent a thorough review with a comparative review of ICF accrediting standards. Student Learning Outcomes and needs assessment had been conducted previously when the training was underway in 2013, however, this also had another review. Areas where ICF standards were already met were identified, and then categorized according to the different Core Competencies that the ICF would examine. Areas where standards were not fully met were scheduled for review and I met with stakeholders to discuss what our needs were and ideas for development. Each area was prioritized and scheduled into our project calendar for development.

As the curriculum was revised, assets and operations documentation were also updated. Facilitators received additional training in delivery of materials and were advised of any new protocols. Facilitators were also tasked with securing personal ICF credentials and I worked with all stakeholders to determine a timeline for their credentials and assist with the preparation.

Accreditation was secured in 2019 and in the three years since, graduates of our program who have gone on to secure their personal ICF credential have been well-prepared: our students have reported a 100% pass rate for their ICF credential.
