Alumni Curriculum

Graduates of an accredited life coach training program needed additional assistance after graduation.
Challenge: lack of human or capital resources to do an in-person training.
The training I developed was designed to meet the needs of alumni who live all around the world, meeting needs for their continued development as coaches but without being resource intensive. -
Develop alumni curriculum that meets needs that were identified on surveys of alumni requesting additional training on specific topics.
Two highest requests: confidence-building, and marketing skills development.

Because the desire to “feel more confident” is a qualitative objective, we needed a way to make it quantitative so that we could measure student progress. I decided that one way we could measure progress would be to have learners identify their unique behaviors that they felt would lead to “feeling more confident,” and then establish the learning goal as “make consistent effort towards developing more confidence.”
The LMS would be able to track how often they were logging in to make progress on that goal.
Beta testers suggested the option of providing contact information between alumni so that informal accountability groups could be formed.
Live recordings of coaching sessions on “how to be more confident” were also created and provided so that coaches could hear coaching questions that they might ask of themselves. Worksheets and other assets were developed.

Training was delivered via first to beta testers before being released to the full group via a LMS.

65% completion rate of the training curriculum, with “5” or higher ratings on a Likert scale indicate that the training was deemed successful.
